Vinegar has been used for seasoning, pickling, cleaning, and folk medicine since a millennia. It is a wondrous solution of water and acetic acid with numerous uses, and one that will not harm you, the environment, and if you are a mom or pet mom, it can be especially useful for preventing nasty chemicals from potentially harming the little ones in your home.

Now there are different solutions you can make. Adding things like fruit peels, herbs and essential oils will give it a much better scent, and additional "umph" power. Here are 3 go-to favs and their uses:

Important notes about Vinegar Cleaners: Never use vinegar on granite because it will cause serious damage. It can also corrode cast iron and aluminum pans, not meant for wood floors, grout or natural stone.

How to make it:

To make your citrus+ infused vinegar, start by adding your chosen peel followed by the additive (essential oil, rosemary, mint) to your clean glass jar, fill with vinegar and let sit for 12-24 hrs away from sunlight. When ready, strain (we prefer using the cheesecloth which saves you from having to strain multiple times) and make sure to add your cleaning solution to a plastic bottle that will not corrode with the vinegar (hence we added the #2 beside "plastic") or an even better option is to use a glass spray bottle. Label and re-make as needed.
